Ruffled Crochet Scrunchie Pattern
Share
This version adds extra stitches so the scrunchie becomes fuller, wavier, and more eye-catching. Work slowly around the elastic the first time, then repeat the same structure for faster batches.

Materials
- Cotton or acrylic yarn
- Hair elastic
- 4 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Step-by-step instructions
- Cover the hair elastic with single crochet stitches.
- Join the first round with a slip stitch.
- Chain 3 to begin the ruffle round.
- Work 3 double crochet stitches into each stitch around.
- Push the ruffle forward as the round gets crowded.
- Keep going until you return to the start of the round.
- Join with a slip stitch into the top of the starting chain.
- For extra fullness, add one round of single crochet around the outer edge.
- Fasten off and weave in the ends.
- Shake the scrunchie gently so the ruffle opens evenly.
Finishing tips
- More stitches create more ruffle.
- Use cotton for crisp waves.
- Stop after one ruffle round if it already looks full.
How to use it
Use the finished scrunchie for everyday hair styling, gift sets, craft fair baskets, party favors, or quick accessory bundles. Make two or three in matching colors for a more polished gift.
